A wildfire in the Porto de Lagos and Rasmalho area, in the municipality of Portimão, in the foothills of the Serra de Monchique, is already being fought by 45 men and 13 vehicles, a source from the District Relief Operations Command (CDOS) told Sul Informação.
The fire was reported at 20:40, and "the normal means of triangulation were immediately activated [in this case firefighters from Portimão, Lagoa and Monchique], as well as the Brigada do Barlavent0," said the same source.
For now, the CDOS does not have even more information about the fire, which, at the moment, is not close to homes. The means have already been sent to the site, and the situation is currently being evaluated.
This is the only active fire in the entire country, according to the website of the National Civil Protection Authority.
