The deadline for land registration in Loulé was extended by the Directorate General for the Territory (DGT) until November 30, 2014, with the aim of safeguarding the best interests of the cadastral holders of buildings located in the geographical area of ​​the Municipality of Loulé , namely by increasing the accessibility of citizens to this process. A decision taken following the steps taken by the City Council of Loulé

The Loulé Council made efforts with the central government to extend the deadline for land registration, «namely a motion of topicality and urgency approved in the Municipal Assembly which proposed the extension of the deadline for the delivery of registration forms of ownership of the buildings until the 31st December 2014'.

"The fact that these are time-consuming processes, but also because, in practice, land registration operations only began to take place from October 2013, with waiting lists currently exist for owners to be able to register, for municipal officials. Enlargement will be an asset to the success of the Land Registry in the Municipality of Loulé as it will allow more owners to register their properties», justified the Chamber of Loulé, in a press release.

The Municipality of Loulé was selected by the Portuguese State to pioneer the project of Execution of the Land Registry for the implementation of the National System for the Exploitation and Management of Cadastral Information (SiNErGIC), under the responsibility of the General Directorate of the Territory.

"Considering the importance of this territorial management instrument, the Municipality calls for the participation of all, for the demarcation of their properties and the filling in of the respective ownership declarations, in accordance with the instructions provided and in the forms provided for that purpose", he urged Loulé Chamber.
