The City Council of São Brás de Alportel will reinstate the salaries and allowances of its employees as of this month of June, returning to the gross amounts existing in 2010 and putting aside the cuts defined as of 2011. A decision taken after, in Last Friday, the Constitutional Court have considered this measure unconstitutional.
“The recent decision of the Constitutional Court falls on article 33 of Law no. 83 C/2013 of 31 December, referring to the reduction of gross monthly wages for public sector workers. In view of this announcement, the City Council of São Brás de Alportel, with a balanced financial situation and with no late payments, decided to pay employees and collaborators the amount of their income free of cuts», announced the municipality.
“With this good news, the municipality also intends to recognize the commitment, effort and dedication of this team that works every day for the well-being of the São Brasense community”, he concluded.
