The Municipal Museum of Archeology of Silves will open its doors to the public beyond its normal hours, on Saturday, May 17th, from 21 pm to 00 pm, for another “Night of the Museums”.

As part of the commemorations of International Museum Day, this initiative includes a guitar recital by Juan León, starting at 21:30 pm.

Juan León is a Peruvian guitarist, living in Portugal for several years. He has performed in several countries and teaches guitar at the Academy of Music in Lagos.

His musical sphere goes beyond the scope of classical guitar, having already performed several concerts in jazz quartets and trios.

The themes of this recital will address not only the classical period, but some more contemporary ones, by South American composers.

Museum Night was launched in 2005 by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication, with the aim of attracting families and a younger audience to museums, while at the same time mobilizing visitors in Europe for a common event that would contribute to building a Europe of Culture.

For more information, interested parties may consult the detailed program on the CMS portal or contact the Municipal Museum of Archeology of Silves, by telephone 282 440 838 or by email at [email protected]

Admission is free.
