The Alte Professional School (EPA) opens its doors to the entire population in a new edition of the Open Week, which runs until Friday, in the premises of that professional education establishment in the interior of the municipality of Loulé.

This initiative is mainly aimed at 9th grade students and aims to demonstrate the best practices of each of the courses promoted by the school, as well as the infrastructure and teaching and research equipment associated with each of the courses and their professional outlets.

«Each course prepares different activities in order to enable participants to be closer and more involved with the innovative, creative and entrepreneurial capacity that characterizes EPA students», describes the educational establishment, in a press release.

On May 16, the seminar «The value of the fig in the Algarve – culture, products and marketing within the project» will be held, the final event of the new edition of the «A Escola ea Comunidade» project.

This initiative by the Alte school «provides for the carrying out of a series of studies and actions subordinated to themes chosen annually, representative of the use of regional natural resources and also of local and regional socio-economic potentials and dynamics». In 2013/14, the focused resource was the fig.

«These dynamics aim to involve the entire school community, as well as the surrounding socio-economic fabric. The project takes place throughout the school year and the results are discussed and presented at the final seminar,” EPA revealed.

Representatives of the Algarve Regional Directorate of Agriculture and Fisheries, AIDA – Interprofessional Association for the Development of Production and Valorization of Carob, Fruits of the Algarve and also of the Agricultural Society of Quinta do Freixo.
