Lagoa City Council will invest 1,5 million euros in its essential public services of water, sanitation and waste during the course of this year.

The “great financial effort”, underlines the local authority, focuses on the water supply service, and it is planned to expand the supply network to Sítio da Vala, Poço dos Pardais and Cerca da Lapa.

The renovation of the water supply networks to Ferragudo, Carvoeiro and Senhora da Rocha, areas of the municipality where supply disruptions are currently frequent due to the obsolete state of the network, will also be carried out.

This amount includes an increase in the means of collecting urban waste by around 500 thousand euros, as well as an improvement in the wastewater sanitation system, highlighting the implementation of the sanitation network in Sobral de Cima, in Porches.

According to the Câmara de Lagoa, this investment “mainly fulfills three objectives: reducing water losses through the renovation and expansion of the respective network, expanding the coverage of the sanitation service and also improving the urban waste collection system”.
