About 10 tons of solid and monos waste were collected this Sunday, the 4th, during the cleaning journey in the hunting reserves and beaches of Castro Marim, carried out by around 300 hunters.

The event was attended by the president of the Federation of Hunters of the Algarve (FCA), Vítor Palmilha, of the Municipal Assembly of Castro Marim, José Luís Domingos, of the Municipality of Castro Marim, Francisco Amaral, as well as Macário Correia, administrator of the Algar company, the deputies Elsa Cordeiro and Miguel Freitas, representatives of the Regional Directorate of Agriculture and the Institute for the Conservation of Nature and Forests.

The action was promoted by the Federation of Hunters of the Algarve (FCA), with the support of the Municipality of Castro Marim, and took place as part of the Day of the Hunter for the Environment.

The money from the sale of iron and material collected will be used to offer appliances to Social Solidarity Institutions or to needy families identified by local authorities.

On the same day, after a convivial lunch, the Castro Marim City Council signed collaboration protocols with around twenty hunting clubs and associations in the municipality to prevent forest fires.
