The Algarve actress Elisabete Martins is this week's guest of the «Improvisos à 5ª» initiative, which the Cine-Teatro Louletano bar will host tomorrow, May 22, at 21 pm. Admission is free.
Elisabete Martins, who has been part of the cast of ACTA-A Companhia de Teatro do Algarve since 2001, has already had a long career as an actress. Shortly after joining this professional group, he signed his first production: «O Primeiro», by Israel Horowitz, in 2002. Since then, and until now, he has worked with several directors such as Luís Vicente, Andrezj Kowalski, Paulo Moreira, Paulo Matos, Jorge Soares, among others.
Much earlier, between 1993-97, he was part of the amateur theater group In Impetus. His first experiences in professional theater are in the role of stage manager: in 1997 in the play Sétimo Céu, staged by Fernanda Lapa, Teatro Villaret and in 98 Pecado, created by Luís Castro at the CCB.
In 1999 he is one of 12 trainees in the Training Course for Actors, Technicians and Theater Animators, which he concluded in 2000.
Since 2001 she has participated as an actress in the Theater for Education Program (distinguished with the Gulbenkian Education Award-2010). She is co-author and is in charge of staging the show «Mais um Shot?».
From April 2011 onwards, she is part of the coordination of the Inclusion through Art Project – a partnership between ACTA and APATRIS 21 – Association for People with Trisomy 21 (which also supports other causes of mental disability), ministering dramatic expression classes.
