Shows in Aljezur, the Sagres Fortress and the Megalithic Monuments of Alcalar (Portimão) mark the participation of the DiVaM Program – Dynamisation, Valorization of Monuments, promoted by the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve, in the commemorations of the International Day of Museums, 18th of May .

Thus, on Sunday, the 18th, at 16:30 pm, the Igreja da Misericórdia of Aljezur will receive a concert “Sons Antigos”, by the Ensemble de Flautas Vicentino, promoted by the Academy of Music of Lagos.

At 16 pm, at the Fortaleza de Sagres, the Ao Luar Teatro group presents the “Encontros Imaginários de Hélder Costa”, while at the same time, in Alcalar's Megalithic Monuments, the show “Marimbas e Soprano – Grupo Duo 00Mallets e Carina” will take place. , promoted by Filarmónica Silvense.

Entrance to the concerts will be included in the price of admission to the monuments (in Alcalar and Sagres). Entry on Saturday, the 17th, at the Aljezur Museums, will be free.

With these shows, the Regional Directorate wants to «associate itself with the importance of these cultural spaces for the safeguarding of the various identities that are welcomed and made alive there».

The 18th of May was instituted since 1977 by the ICOM – International Council of Museums -, a UNESCO body, which this year has chosen as its main theme “Museums: collections create connections”.
