Xelb de Silves with «historical result» in the 2nd round of the Portugal Cross Country Cup in MTB

The MTB team «Atlantic Service/Clube Xelb de Silves» was the winner of the team competition in the XCO Portugal Cup (Olympic Cross Country), played last weekend in Vale de Rans, Penafiel.

In addition to the collective title, a "historic result" for the silves club, there were three athletes from the Algarve who took the podium, not only in this competition, but also in the 2nd Competition of the Portugal Cup of women's road cycling, which took place at the the 25th of April, in Gondomar.

In Penafiel, in the second competition of the XCO Portugal Cup, Teresa Fernandes secured the first position in the female Masters category, Ana Sofia Silvestre secured the second position in the female junior competition and the cadet Inês Raimundo was in 3rd place in the competition she disputed.

Two days before, the athletes Teresa Fernandes and Ana Silvestre had already secured the first position in the respective categories, in Gondomar. In the first case, the athlete from Algarve imposed herself on a closed circuit of 50 kilometers. The junior cyclist of Xelb de Silves dominated a circuit with the same characteristics, but with 75 kilometres.

The Algarve club took, on its trip to the North of the country, the female cadets Inês Raimundo and Rute Luísa, the male cadet João Silva, the master 30 Marco Nunes, the female master Teresa Fernandes, the female junior Ana Sofia Silvestre and the elite David Beautiful.
