The collective «The by David Laherrere», which was born a few months ago in the Algarve, will debut its first solo exhibition «IRONy», at LX Factory, on May 16th. This Algarvian project was created by the French artist residing in São Brás de Alportel, who gives the project its name, with a group of friends and professionals passionate about a «daring and innovative project».

«The harmony achieved between these determined and committed professionals contributes to making IRONy more than an exclusive and innovative exhibition: IRONy is a synergy in a contemporary Algarve that dares to challenge Lisbon», according to the project's promoters.

«The by David Laherrere took its first steps a few months ago when, in the Algarve, it found everything it needed to create what you would supposedly not expect in an area of sun and beach: unique industrial design creations», they say. Since then, he has participated in group exhibitions in the Algarve, in the municipalities of Loulé, Albufeira and Faro.

The exhibition, which will debut in Lisbon, will occupy a space of 400 square meters and consists of «the recreation of a loft where we will be able to find shelves, lamps, tables and other exclusive pieces built with abandoned or forgotten industrial materials that acquire a new utility and which was joined by design».

The challenge taken on by the artist is materialized with the participation of several professionals from the Algarve, who, in one way or another, crossed paths and built friendships.

Marlene Luís, resident in Loulé, a marketing consultant who has worked with several public private entities in the region and the country, takes over the entire brand management and communication of the event, assisted by designer Célia Palma, from Faro, which has developed «a work of unquestionable quality in several projects in the Algarve».

The layout of the space was designed with the help of industrial designer Miguel Mendoza, a Spaniard who also resides in São Brás de Alportel, an Algarve at heart with relevant projects developed nationwide.

The opening of the event was also thought by the Algarve, in this case the Lourenço and Tiago Almeida, who were chosen to plan the «welcome drink The by David Laherrere» due to «proven experience in the work carried out in reference restaurant establishments in the Algarve and in the provision of excellent catering services'.

«This duo will brighten the event by mixing the best of France and Portugal in a combination of flavors where the Algarve will also be present. All this will be accompanied by the music of Dj Mike-Fish, who has already done well in the Algarve and will involve Lisbon in its excellent and vibrant musical selections», they add.

After the opening event, at the Open Day LX Factory, on May 16th, this exhibition can be visited on the 1st floor of building 1 (space 1.25) of that cultural space in the Capital until May 30th.
