Four journalists from Spanish radio Cadena Cope will travel to the Algarve this week to prepare three special editions of the program "A cuerpo de rey", dedicated to the culture and gastronomy of the Algarve region. This is the third time that the Badajoz station has closely approached the offer of this tourist destination, broadcasting it to thousands of listeners.

The promotional action is organized by the Algarve Tourism Region (RTA), in partnership with the municipalities of Aljezur, Vila do Bispo and Monchique, and will take the group of broadcasters on a tour of these municipalities, where they will chat with guests from local entities that will explain to them the importance of the heritage they will come across, such as the farol of Cabo de São Vicente or the parish church of Vila do Bispo, one of the best examples of the Baroque style in the Algarve.

The visit, which will be integrated by the president of RTA Desidério Silva, also includes tastings of the Algarve cuisine and a visit to a traditional medronho distillery in Monchique, where participants will learn how the famous brandy is produced.

In just two days, April 10th and 11th, Spanish journalists will be in contact with the best of the three Algarve municipalities chosen as protagonists of the radio program (remember that in 2012 the Cadena Cope team was in Albufeira and the following year in São Brás from Alportel, Olhão and Tavira) and then broadcast it to their listeners at a regional level.

For Desidério Silva, this action is an «excellent means to strengthen relations between the Algarve and Extremadura, with more than 1 million inhabitants, and to promote the region in the Spanish market», competence attributed to tourism regions in May 2013 , when the new legal regime for the country's regional tourism areas came into force.

The “A cuerpo de rey” program about the Algarve will be broadcast on April 14, 15 and 16 at midday (Spanish time).
