And on the 13th day, when there is only one more left to finish this 7th crossing of the Via Algarviana, there was victims of the walk…

Thursday, April 17, 13th day of walking:

Yesterday, in Vaqueiros, the group of hikers crossing the Via Algarviana made another victim. A lamb born in January was duly transformed into a beautiful stew, which turned out to be one of the best meals this year.

Today's stage, penultimate, was joined by a few more hikers. The tirade was relatively calm, but affected by the great heat that was felt.

Maybe that's why the ford crossing of Ribeira da Foupana was one of the highlights of the day, used by many to refresh their feet.

The landscape changed a little, with some crops of cereals and pastures, interspersed with bush areas, where there were hives. And again there were bee victims, but with no major consequences, except for the stings.

Now that the end of the crossing is approaching, as a balance, it can be said that doing the Via in this way, every 14 days until the end, is an experience that marks, even for the group spirit that is being created. But this Way can be done in several ways, it can be done by testing the limits of each one, but for that, each one needs to know what their limits are...

The crossing can be hard or leisurely, depending on the speed at which it is made. The time of year is also not indifferent. In summer it is almost impossible to do this walk due to the heat.

We have met many people on the Via Algarviana, from cyclists to groups or single people. We have found people in autonomy and others who use the villages for support, in terms of food or overnight.

Tomorrow, we will complete the last section of this 7th crossing of the Via Algarviana, which will take us from Balurcos to Guadiana, in Alcoutim (24,2 km). There will be almost 300 km of walk behind us and many stories to tell.
