The Portuguese Cadet and Junior B Speed Skating Team is doing an internship at the Escola Internacional do Algarve. It is the first stage of this team in the current sporting season and will run until next Friday, March 14th.

The Portuguese Skating Federation invited 16 athletes to the stage, including three skaters from the Sports Club of the International School of the Algarve (CDEIA): Carolina Ferreira, Laura Nagiller and Miguel Bravo.

The three athletes are also students of the International School of the Algarve and represented Portugal in the 2013 European Speed Skating Championship.

The internship started on Monday and is being carried out under the technical guidance of national coach Lívio Medeiros and coach Alípio Silva. “It's the first stage of the season and serves to get to know our athletes more deeply and start the work that will have consequences in the European Championship”, commented the coach Lívio Medeiros.

This is the second stage carried out by the Federation of Skating of Portugal this season at the Escola Internacional do Algarve, where the best skating rink in mainland Portugal is built.

The first stage was in February, with the Portuguese Speed Skating Elite Selection, which brought together the seven best Portuguese senior skaters of today.
