Cine-Teatro Louletano will celebrate, on March 27, at 21 pm, World Theater Day with the presentation of the play “Mary Poppins, the Woman who saved the World”, a co-production by Teatro do Eléctrico and Teatro Esfera, with text and directed by Ricardo Neves-Neves.

It's a play about desires. Personal desires, intimate, deep or superficial, modest or ambitious. The well-known character appears here as the one who is asked, as if he were a star, an eyelash or a fairy godmother.

Mary Poppins leaves whenever the wind changes.

This is a swap show.

The title hopes for a reality: that Mary Poppins will in fact save the world from this new family. But just as interest rates can fluctuate, so does the wind and she leaves, leaving chaos.

Mary Poppins introduces herself to a new family, applying for the role of governess. In fact, he must undergo a job interview, presenting his vast curriculum and talking about his long career. The family is eager to receive it and launches into requests and desires that the perceiver must satisfy.

The show explores the musical meaning existing in the words, the prosápia, the choral moments, the absurdity of the senses, integrating the non-sense, trying to employ the former governess.

The text was presented in 2012, in the context of the Obrador d'Estíu, a meeting of young playwrights, promoted by Sala Beckett, in Barcelona. It was staged by the German Thomas Sauerteig, in Catalan and with Catalan actors, as part of the Grec Festival.

This show will feature the special participation of actress Custódia Gallego.

The ticket price is 10 euros.
