The British Consulate will provide information to UK citizens residing in the Algarve about the services that each public entity can offer them, in an action that will take place on Wednesday, at 16 pm, at the Municipal Market of Faro, to which the Chamber of Faro joined. Participation in the “Consular One Stop Shop” initiative, as part of the events organized by the consulate called “The Consulate in the Community”, is free.

«The City Council is associated with this initiative, which deserves our best attention, considering the expressive foreign community residing in our municipality. Proximity is fostered and the resident population is clarified about the bureaucratic processes associated with some services», illustrated the Faro local authority, in a press release.

In addition to the Chamber, other entities join the action of the consulate, namely: Social Security, Institute of Mobility and Transport (IMT), Foreigners and Borders Service (SEF), Regional Health Administration (ARS), Santa Casa da Misericórdia, Association of Foreign Owners in Portugal (AFPOP), the Conflict Information, Mediation and Arbitration Center (CIMAAL) and the Royal British Legion.

Each of these institutions will provide diversified information aimed at helping foreign residents to better understand the services they can provide to the community. «It is important that these citizens understand what is available to them in Portugal and, from the perspective of the entities present, it is important as they come into contact with the challenges that may arise in providing assistance to non-Portuguese residents, allowing them to do so. way to adapt the service and focus it on these people», illustrates the Chamber of faro..

The initiative will be launched by a representative of the Municipal Executive, followed by a brief presentation by the British vice-consul at Algarve Clive Jewell. Afterwards, and until 18:00, the British participants will be able to contact the various entities present.
