After the success last July, the 2nd edition of the Wine Tasting Initiation Course will take place on March 8th, at Casa Manuel Teixeira Gomes, in Portimão.

The course takes place within the scope of the “There are Algarve Wines in Portimão” initiative, a partnership between the Algarve Wine Commission and the Portimão Municipal Council, which aims to promote the production of Algarve wine and the municipality's gastronomic heritage.

The course, with a duration of four hours, runs from 9:00 am to 13:00 pm and will be in charge of the winemaker Gonçalo Fialho, who will try to answer many of the questions that arise in relation to wine.

The initiative aims to provide participants with essential knowledge to critically appreciate wine, addressing topics such as the main national and international varieties, the principles of winemaking, sensory analysis, the temperature of consumption of wines, glasses, the packaging of wines and food-wine pairings.

Enrollments, mandatory and limited to a minimum of ten and a maximum of 12 participants, must be made by March 6 at Casa Manuel Teixeira Gomes (Rua Júdice Bíker, nº 1 – telephone 282 480 492), upon payment of 25 euros, which includes participation in the course and lunch with commented wine tasting at the Lusana restaurant.
