Praia da Rocha, in Portimão, will host, next weekend, 1st and 2nd March, the 3rd Stage of the Algarve Surf Circuit 2014, organized by the Playsurf surf school and the Yacht Club da Marina de Portimao.

The novelty will be the evening socializing with athletes and friends at the Sports Bar Café in Alvor, on Saturday night, March 1st, with live music, awards presentation, footage of the day and other surprises, announced Playsurf.

In December, CSA 2013 was concluded in Praia da Rocha, in a stage won by ex-WCT Marlon Lipke (Lagos) against a luxury lineup, including another ex-WCT and former world champion Junior Pedro Henrique, and professionals Miguel Mouzinho ( Lagos), Eduardo Fernandes, Joackim Guichard (Tavira).

As regional stars Francisco Canelas and Paulo Almeida led the ranking at the beginning of the test and they were eliminated At first. Francisco Canelas learned on the beach, already out of competition, that he was champion of the circuit, after the elimination of two competitors who could still reach the title.

Very good surfing and emotion was the recipe for success in the last stage of CSA 2013. With the new calendar already in tune with the Portuguese Surf Federation, which improved the judgment and allowed the almost immediate dissemination of results by the speaker from service to proof, Praia da Rocha is the stage for a new stage about two months after the previous one. It is expected that national and international stars will return to brighten up the surf show on the beach, as has happened in recent years.

Competition is expected in the U-12, U-14, U-16, Open, Women's Open and Longboard categories. According to the Sul Informação, the 2013 Longboard champion and winner of the first two stages of 2014, Luís Esteves, may not compete in Praia da Rocha, as he is recovering from a foot injury. The absence of the 2013 national runner-up will give his opponents an advantage and increase the emotion in Longboard at CSA 2014.

The 3rd Stage CSA 2014 is supported by the Portuguese Surfing Federation, Portimão Municipality and Portimão Parish Council; and finalist awards will be offered by Secret Spot surf shop, Central skate shop, Guys and Dolls, Komunity Project by Kelly Slater and Ocean Beach surfboards design. Pizzeria L'Angolo, in Alvor, will provide lunch at the staff.

Visiting surfers can stay at Clube Praia da Rocha, partner of the event for accommodation, which offers the following conditions: daily price per T1 apartment, 20 euros (occupancy up to 4 people), without breakfast. Contacts: 282 417 745 or 282 400 500/ [email protected].

Registration will be open until tomorrow, February 27th, and must be sent to the e-mail [email protected]. Registration costs 15 euros.
