Lufthansa, German carrier and leader of the Star Alliance alliance, will make daily the operation between Faro and Frankfurt, in the IATA Summer 2014 (March to October 2014), going from the current four to seven weekly flights.

According to the website Air Low Cost Info, the German company had already, in 2012 and 2013, invested in strengthening the routes of Faro to Frankfurt, to Munich and started a connection between Faro and Berlin.

The reinforcement of capacity that, according to the Airport of Faro made known, it will take place from May, it will be carried out by an operation that will use the A319, A320 and A321 aircraft alternately and depending on the days of the week, consolidating the policy of strengthening connections between Faro to major hubs and which was also recently embodied in the announcement of the return of the connection Faro-Heathrow with British Airways.

The British company will return to the two daily operations to London (Gatwick), but also to the regular connection to London (City) and to the connection Faro-London Heathrow.

So, starting in March, BA will again operate two flights a day to Gatwick, adding two weekly flights to Heathrow (during the summer, there will be 4 frequencies).

The London City route, launched in 2012 and which was not regularly operated in 2013, regains its regular frequency status, three times a week, during the summer period.

Faro Thus, it becomes the only Portuguese airport with connections to all London airports: Heathrow (British Airways), Gatwick (British Airways, easyjet, Thomson Airways, Monarch, Thomas Cook, Norwegian), Stansted (Ryanair, Thomson Airlines), Luton (easyjet, Monarch), City (British Airways) and Southend (easyjet).

For its part, the Air France KLM Group, pursuing its policy of transforming Transavia into a feeder carrier for the operations of KLM and Air France, will launch a regular Paris (Orly) operation – Faro, starting April 14th.

The flights will be operated on Mondays and Fridays and will face competition from easyJet and Aigle Azur (also departing from Orly) and Ryanair (departing from Beauvais).
