The Honorary Consul of the Republic of Austria in the Algarve, Eduardo Henrique de Macedo Vieira, will be the target of a tribute by the other consuls based in the region.

Eduardo Vieira exercised the functions of Honorary Consul of Austria for about 15 years, having been decorated by the President of the Republic of that country with the Gold Medal of Merit, in recognition of services rendered.

Eduardo Vieira is a well-known businessman in the hotel business in the municipality of Albufeira, having earned the admiration and friendship of all those with whom he had a closer relationship, namely the respect of the consular community in the Algarve.

Throughout his term, Eduardo Vieira contributed to the strengthening of relations between Austria and Portugal, with special emphasis on the decisive role he played in the twinning process between the cities of Albufeira and Linz.

The Homage Dinner will take place at the Hotel Alísios, in Albufeira, on February 28th, and will count with the participation of the Consular Corps of the Algarve, President of the Municipal Council of Albufeira, in addition to other friends and civil and military authorities.

Eduardo Vieira ceased his functions due to age limit.

The tribute is organized by Elidérico Viegas, Consul of Poland, José Alberto Alegria, Consul of Morocco, and Luís Afonso, Dean and Consul of Canada.
