The Caritas Diocesana do Algarve's Social and Charitable Action Days, which will take place on March 15 at the Pastoral and Social Center of Ferragudo, in Lagoa, will count on the presence of the former rector of the Catholic University Manuel Braga da Cruz. This will be the 13th edition of the event.
The university professor and researcher, who belonged to the Portuguese Political Science Association and the National Justice and Peace Commission, will reflect on the «Family, crisis and solidarity» during this meeting, which aims to promote a moment of reflection for the Church of the Algarve.
The intervention of Manuel Braga da Cruz will take place right after the reception, accreditation and initial prayer, with the start of the event scheduled for 10 am.
After lunch, there will be a thematic panel entitled «The face of charity», which will focus on the reality of childhood, from the point of view of the experience of the Children's Center “O Awakening” of Caritas do Algarve, about the problems of children and young people at risk, from the point of view of the experience of the Social Welfare Center of Nossa Senhora de Fátima in Olhão, and of the elderly, from the point of view of the experience of the Centro Paroquial de Cachopo.
