The Museological Pole of Frutos Secos will reopen in Loulé on February 1st, the day that marks the elevation of Loulé as a city, an investment by the municipality that will make it possible to make «more cultural equipment available to visitors that favors discovery. and the knowledge of a reality that is on the verge of extinction in the Municipality».

«Integrated in the Museological Network of the Municipality of Loulé, this space is the testimony of an activity that played an important social, economic, technological and cultural role, especially in the rural parish of S. Sebastião: cultivation and processing of dried fruits. The small factory for the production and sale of dried fruits, deactivated in the 90s of the 1998th century, was adapted by the Municipality of Loulé for museological purposes and had its official opening in December XNUMX», describes the Câmara de Loulé, in a note from press.

In the museum space, located on Rua Gil Vicente, there is an almond chopping machine and a carob crushing machine that, together with other objects and materials, allows visitors to have direct contact with traditional processes and a better understanding and knowledge of this activity. socioeconomic status.
