According to data from the Association of Hotels and Touristic Enterprises of the Algarve (AHETA), the areas of Vilamoura/Quarteira/Quinta do Lago (+4,9%) Carvoeiro/Armação de Pêra (+4,6p.p.) and Albufeira (+3,7p.p.) +XNUMXp.p.) were the ones that presented the biggest increases in occupations. None of the zones registered declines in occupations.

At a regional level, the average overall occupancy rate per room was 26,1%, still 4% above the value verified in 2012.

According to AHETA, this increase in occupations also represented a slightly weaker increase in turnover (2,2%).

By nationality, the main increases were registered in the German (47,3%) and Spanish (+27,4%) markets, while the biggest decrease occurred in the Portuguese market (-9,8%).

As for the categories, 3-star tourist villages and apartments (+5,9%), and 5 and 4* (+4,2%) were the ones that presented the biggest increases in occupations.

The 5 and 4* tourist villages and apartments registered the highest occupancy (42,2%). The 5* hotels and aparthotels were the lowest (16,7%).

AHETA ends by stressing that "these data refer only to units that did not close in the period under review."
