The District Command of Faro The PSP, through MIPP elements, started yesterday the delivery of Christmas baskets to the elderly and the homeless, signaled by the “Security for the Elderly” team.

In total, by the end of the week, around 40 hampers will be delivered to needy elderly people and ten hampers to homeless citizens.

This initiative to raise food products was developed internally and had the partnership of Pingo Doce and some local merchants, namely the Trigo Dourado pastries, Faro Doce, Chelsea and Cinderela, the latter having contributed with the "King Cakes", symbol of the Christmas season.

«We intend, through this campaign, to try to minimize two important aspects in the lives of these elderly people: some of the food needs (economic) and the lack of affection and attention, especially in such an important time as Christmas», explains PSP de Faro.
