PSD deputy Mendes Bota questioned the Government about the “conflictual situation of the Parcelário which involves agricultural land in the parishes of Querença and Salir, in the municipality of Loulé, opposing dozens of people who claim to own land that overlaps with that of the company Vida Vital, Empreendimentos Imobiliários SA, which intends to build a super-intensive olive grove there for oil».

This case, which has already reached the bars of the courts, has been stirring up the two parishes in Loulé in recent months. About XNUMX small landowners accuse the Finnish-owned company of claiming land that does not belong to them and of having cleared and cleared land without a license on land under environmental protection.

The deputy elected by the Algarve constituency and from Loulé addressed 12 questions to the Ministry of Agriculture and the Sea, where he seeks to know, among other things, how much money the promoters of this agricultural investment have already received from the Proder Program and which entities have spoken in favor of the installation from the project. It also asked for “a descriptive summary of the current situation of this entire process”, as well as various information regarding the Parcelário in those parishes of Loulé and identified conflicts, linked to the land in question.

«The right to private property has an important constitutional acceptance, and must be protected as an expression of one of the most intrinsic feelings in the nature of the Portuguese people. To Justice, therefore, what belongs to Justice, and only it will determine the reason that attends each one of those who claim to own parcels of land.

On the other hand, it should be noted that the media echoed, without response, accusations by the environmental association Almargem, regarding the lack of respect of this agricultural project in relation to environmental protection standards», considered Mendes Bota, in the exhibition that includes the questions it raised.
