Student Madalena Severino, from Escola Internacional do Algarve, was distinguished with the Best in the World Award, awarded by the Cambridge International Examinations Committee for the best global grade obtained in the IGCSE Exam of Portuguese as a Foreign Language, held in June this year.

Cambridge 'Best in the World' awards are awarded to students around the world who achieve the best grade in the world in a single subject.

"I'm happy. I worked a lot, I tried hard, but I wasn't expecting it. It was a surprise”, commented Madalena Severino, 14 years old, this year attending the 9th year (Class A) of the National Section – Portuguese teaching.

Last school year, Madalena Severino attended Year 9 of the International Section – British teaching, with the aim of improving her English. “I learned a lot in all aspects”, says the student.

«The Best in the World Award is a reward for your work and also for the support you have received from all the teachers since you joined our school at the age of 4 years. It is a result that fills us and makes us proud», stresses that School in a press release.
