The Câmara de Lagoa, in partnership with the Prevenir Association and the municipality's two School Groups, will implement, during the 2013/2014 school year, the “Eu Passo” Program, which aims to promote healthy lifestyle habits and skills psychosocial, to about 320 students in the 5th year of basic education.

The training, made available to teachers, will be accredited and the manuals will be reimbursed by the City Council.

In order to promote healthy attitudes and behaviors, reduce and delay the consumption of tobacco and alcohol and involve educational agents in the process, the program will count on the participation of technicians from the municipality and the training entity, involving all 5th grade teachers. year.

The program began today, the 20th, to be implemented in the school environment, at the EB 2,3 Jacinto Correia Schools, in Lagoa, EB 2,3 João Cónim, in Estombar and EB 2,3 Rio Arade, in Parchal.

The autarchy stresses that this is “a commitment to the prevention of risk behaviors, through the increase of protective factors based on playful strategies and tools, which will be developed in non-disciplinary curricular areas, and which is intended to continue the target group in the next school year, as it is a longitudinal program».

The Healthy Lifestyle and Prevention of Tobacco and Alcohol Use Program, according to experts, should start at home. Schools will help to reinforce the intervention of parents and educators.
