The 95th anniversary of the Armistice that ended World War I will be marked in Loulé by the local nucleus of the Liga dos Combatentes, on Monday, November 11th, at 11 am, in front of the Paços do Concelho de Loulé.

In addition to an address to this anniversary, the program also includes a tribute to the deceased combatants, with the laying of a wreath of flowers next to the plaque bearing the names of the Loulé combatants who participated in the 1st World War. Afterwards, interventions by the president of the Loulé Nucleus of the Liga dos Combatentes Ângelo Silva and the councilor of the Loulé Council Pedro Oliveira will take place. The president of the Chamber, Vítor Aleixo, will also be present at the ceremony.
The Armistice of November 11, 1918, signed in Compiègne, marks the surrender of Germany and the end of the First World War, marking the defeat of the German forces and their allies. November 11th became the day of remembrance in honor of the soldiers.
