Olhanense is the only team from the Algarve that progresses in the Portuguese Cup, after a bad Sunday of games in the 3rd round of this competition for teams from the region.

The Algarve representatives in Liga 2 Portimonense and Farense both lost in the decision by penalty kicks, after having tied their respective games. Esperança de Lagos and Louletano lost their matches during regular time.

The team from Olhão went to Viseu to beat Lusitano de Vildemoinhos by two balls to one. The goals of the match were all scored in the second half, with Olhanense taking the lead with goals from Mirko Bigazzi in the 46th minute and Lucas Souza in the 52nd minute. Lusitano reduced the disadvantage in the 63rd minute, by Johnny, sealing the game final result.

Portimonense and Farense had the same luck, in games with different histories. Portimão's team received the Cova da Piedade and the match ended in a null. In the penalty shoot-out, the visiting team got the better of it (3-5).

Farense went to Santa Maria da Feira to tie with Feirense by two balls, with two goals scored by Jorge Gonçalves (34 and 77 minutes) for the home and Adelaja (50') and Ubay Luzardo for the Algarve ( 79 minutes, also penalty). In the tiebreaker for the nine meters mark, Feirense was better and won the match (5-3).

The remaining Algarve representatives lost in regular time. Esperança de Lagos received Rio Ave from the I Liga, in a game I was as complicated as it could be. In the end, the Vila Condenses won 3 to zero. Louletano also received a team from the North, Famalicão, and lost by two zero balls.
