Raising awareness of the fight against Trafficking in Human Beings, «a crime that affects millions of people around the world, reducing them to the condition of slaves in the XNUMXst century», is the objective of two actions that the Democratic Movement of Women (MDM) ) will promote on Faro, until the end of October. An exhibition and the closing ceremony of the “Women Trafficking – Romper Silences” project are the suggestions.

The first moment proposed by the MDM takes place on Friday, the 18th (European Day Against Trafficking in Human Beings), at Feira de Santa Iria, in Faro. At 18 pm, an exhibition opens on the theme “Women Trafficking: Slavery in Modern Times”, as well as displays of actions developed and materials produced during the “Women Trafficking – Romper Silences” project. This action will be followed by a press conference at 19 pm.

On October 24th, at 21 pm, the MDM will be at Teatro Lethes, in Faro, where he will promote a closing show of this same project, with free entry, with many cultural moments. In addition to the music of the Tuna Académica Feminina of the University of Algarve «Feminis Ferventis» and of «Fad'nu», which brings together Cátia Alhandra and José Alegre, there will also be dancing with the «Golden Ladies Crew», of the Algarve Dance Academy, a magic show by Angelo DeVal and the play «Testemunhos de vitimas», staged by the director of ACTA-A Companhia de Teatro do Algarve Luís Vicente.

"We consider the work carried out to raise awareness, raise awareness and alert public opinion to this terrible reality, which is increasingly affecting our country", considered the MDM, who recalls that the main victims of this crime "are women and children».
