BTT Loulé/BPI won the Portugal Cup of Marathons BTT Sport Zone, after the seventh and last scoring event, the Festival Bike Marathon, held in Santarém.

An athlete from the Loulé club was also crowned national champion in his category: the master 50 Adelino Cruz (BTT Loulé/BPI).

As for Celina Carpinteiro, who spent some time in command of the absolute and elite general classification, she ended up being runner-up, giving the highest place on the podium to Tânia Neves. This athlete from Galitos/Teka/Madeivouga achieved, in Santarém, her third consecutive victory in the Cup competitions, which allowed her to surpass Celina Carpinteiro (BTT Loulé/BPI) in the absolute and elite general classification.

The second in the race this Saturday was Vanessa Fernandes (BTT School of Almeirim), at 1m51s, and the third was the Estonian Maaris Meier (Saertex Portugal/Edaetech/ Bicycles Lavarinhas), at 4m49s.

In men, David Vaz (Saertex Portugal/Edaetech/Bicycles Lavarinas) was the winner of the Portugal Cup of Marathons BTT Sport Zone, having not even needed to score, in a race won by Nuno Inácio (Haibike/Soniturismo/Bike World).

The closing race of the season, heavily hardened by the muddy terrain, saw a clear dominance by Nuno Inácio among the men, as this runner won with a 4m31s advantage over second-placed Davide Machado (BTT Seia), and with 8m16s to better about the third, Rui Torpes. With no influence on the overall overall, this result confirmed Nuno Inácio as the winner of the 30th Masters Cup.

The remaining winners of the Portugal Sport Zone Cup were master 40 José Rosa (Ser e Opinion Team), master 50 Adelino Cruz (BTT Loulé/BPI), master Juliana Lopes (BTT Seia) and, by teams, BTT Loulé /BPI.

The Liberty Seguros Bike Festival Marathon also made it possible to find the winners of the Portugal Sport Zone Paraciclismo Cup.

Fábio Inácio (Saertex Portugal/Edaetech/ Bicycles Lavarinhas), who today was beaten for the first time by another competitor, Ricardo Gomes (Castro Mozinho/Martos/Bfour/HRV), won the trophy among athletes with hearing impairment.

The best runner with physical disabilities in Santarém was Pedro Garcia (CSRD Ota/Carb Boom/Anipura), who also won the Portuguese Cup in his class.
