The 2013 Caloiro Reception Week at the Instituto Superior Manuel Teixeira Gomes (ISMAT), from the Lusófona Group, in Portimão, will take place from October 1st to 5th.
ISMAT has around 500 students, a quarter of which are new enrollments entering Higher Education for the first time.
The Student Committee of the Instituto Superior Manuel Teixeira Gomes (CEISMAT) is pleased that ISMAT is the second largest higher education establishment in the Algarve in terms of the number of new enrollments and total enrollment.
In order to «provide a relevant week, in the welcoming and integration process, to the students who elected the city of Portimão to continue their academic path», CEISMAT prepared a reception «promoting the incorporation of the new student».
Most of the initiatives will take place in the historic center of the city of Portimão, providing a boost to local commerce, in order to promote the experience and permanence of the student community in that area.
The festivities begin at the ISMAT facilities, on Dr. Estêvão Vasconcelos street and, on October 1, 2 and 4, they will be in the outer space next to the old fish market (riverside area of Portimão) to celebrate to the sound of DJ and of popular music in an environment of fraternization between students and the surrounding community.
On the 4th of October, Friday, at 21 pm, the academic procession organized by CEISMAT will take place.
The procession will start at the ISMAT pole, located at Rua Dr. Estêvão Vasconcelos, heading to Rua do Comércio, towards Praça da República (Alameda), going down Rua Vasco da Gama to Largo 1º de Maio.
You will then take Cândido dos Reis street to Largo do Dique and then to Praça Manuel Teixeira Gomes, where the 1st stop will be made of about 10 minutes.
Then, the procession continues to the bandstand, for a stop of about 5 minutes, for the performance of IsmaTUNA, continuing along the riverside to the old fish market, where it will end.
