The Raposeira Multipurpose Pavilion was inaugurated on September 16, by the president of Vila do Bispo City Council, Adelino Soares. The act was also attended by the president of the Parish Council, José Francisco, and the president of the Municipal Assembly Rui Correia.
The inauguration ceremony included the unveiling of the inaugural plaque, in the presence of numerous village bishops who traveled to the site to participate in this festive moment.
In his speech, the mayor Adelino Soares left “a word of appreciation to the population of Raposeira, who knew how to wait patiently for decades to make this dream come true”.
He also stressed that “the construction of equipment of this importance does not happen every day, much less in a municipality that is experiencing a very complicated financial period”.
The mayor Adelino Soares took the opportunity to publicly honor all the employees of the municipality who contributed to the realization of this work.
This Pavilion with 578 square meters is equipped with conditions for the practice of various activities of a sporting, cultural and recreational nature.
The infrastructure, which represents an investment of around 155 thousand euros, thus contributes to improving the quality of life of the local population and, also, of the rest of the municipality.
It is, according to the Chamber, "a work that reflects development, investment and collective effort, which are important requirements for the economic development of the municipality of Vila do Bispo."
The initiative also included the declamation of a poem alluding to the Pavilion by the local poet Maria Catarina António, as well as a convivial snack.
