The Socialist Youth of Faro walked through stores of Faro to ask the opinion on the introduction of new parking meters, carried out by the current executive, and assured, in a press release, that more than 90 percent of the 200 Faroese merchants surveyed «did not agree with the placement of the parking meters, 98 by cent stated that this measure was harmful to trade”.

The opinion survey, carried out by this party structure and revealed two days before the elections, will also have found, according to JS, that "79 percent" of merchants have the perception that the 954 seats that have been taxed for about a year and a half, in addition to a first crown of parking meters that was already installed, they lowered sales "by 25 to 50 percent".

"The vast majority of Faro merchants surveyed do not agree with the tariffs practiced in the new areas covered by parking meters, with 88 percent of the opinion that there are not enough parking alternatives in the city," according to JS.

According to JS of Faro, the universe of this survey «was the population aged 18 or over, with a commercial establishment in Faro and in areas affected by the placement of the most recent parking meters». «The sample was stratified by zones: Baixa da Cidade (80%); Rua de São Luis (5%), Largo do Carmo and Largo de São Pedro (15%), in a total of 200 validated surveys», added the young socialists.
