The University of Algarve will host, in the 1st semester of this academic year 2013/2014 alone, close to five hundred students from more than 50 nationalities and from five continents.

Students come from countries as diverse as Spain, Ireland, Thailand, Serbia, USA, Pakistan, Australia, Finland, Palestine, China, Brazil, New Zealand, Nepal, Egypt, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands, Mexico, Canada, Sweden, Slovenia , Lebanon, Denmark, Germany, United Kingdom, Norway, Italy, Turkey, Greece, Austria, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Russia, among others.

To welcome these five hundred international students, who have chosen the institution to undertake a period of studies or to complement their training, through mobility and exchange programs or protocols, such as Erasmus, has been taking place since Monday 2nd and until Saturday 7th September, “Orientation Week”, organized by UAlg's International Relations and Mobility Office (GRIM).

This program includes information sessions, visits to the Penha and Gambelas campuses and boat trips along the Ria Formosa, as well as a visit to Zoomarine.
