The 3rd Petisco Route in Portimão, in addition to the pleasure of good food and socializing with friends, will challenge participants to support three solidarity institutions: the cafeteria at Centro Social de Nª. Sr.ª do Amparo in Portimão, the Bom Samaritano Children's Home in Alvor and the Support Center for the Elderly in Ferragudo.

Thus, when starting their itinerary, participants are invited to make a donation of 1 euro in the existing piggy banks, in exchange for the Route Passport, which is an indispensable tool for anyone wishing to do this gastronomic marathon.

The passport will be available at 70 participating establishments, as well as at the Museum of Portimão, Tourist Offices in Portimão, Praia da Rocha and Alvor, Casa Manuel Teixeira Gomes and the Post Office in Ferragudo.

From September 6th to October 13th, snack lovers will be able to visit the 70 participating restaurants in Portimão, Praia da Rocha, Alvor and Ferragudo, and have a snack for 2,5 euros or enjoy a regional sweet for 2 euros, always accompanied by a drink and seasoned with various moments of cultural entertainment.

For each establishment visited, the petiscador receives a stamp in his passport and, by collecting the stamps, he can qualify for the Route Awards, such as visits with tastings to Algarve wineries or sailing trips.

Those who complete at least 15 stops on their route are also entitled to a participation gift, consisting of a double invitation to visit the Museum of Portimão.

One of the secrets that explain the success of this initiative, promoted by the Teia D'Impulsos association, are the synergies established, with emphasis on the partnership with the Municipality of Portimão, which is combined with the support of the Parish Councils of Portimão, Alvor and Ferragudo, Portimão Tourism Association, Algarve Tourism Region, Algarve Tourism Association, Algarve Wine Commission and ACRAL – Association of Commerce and Services of the Algarve Region.
