1st Mediterranean Diet Fair scheduled for Tavira in September

Tastings and blind tastings of wines, olive oils, bread and honey, Mediterranean cooking classes, producers' market, guided tours, construction workshops, pottery, indoor gardens and aromatic and spice plants, hiking and in the Ria Formosa, music.

These are some of the ingredients of the first edition of the Mediterranean Diet Fair, which will take place in Tavira on the 6th, 7th and 8th of September.

The fair is promoted under the Transnational Candidacy of the Mediterranean Diet for UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, of which Tavira is the Portuguese representative.

The event will be attended by agricultural producers and fishing people, gastronomic activities, product tasting, music, equestrian parades, healthy lifestyles, seminars, exhibitions, tours, among many other reasons of interest.

In terms of music, the choices couldn't be more appropriate: Celina da Piedade, Custódio Castelo and Marenostrum.

Associação In Loco will be represented through the Cordão Verde project, in conjunction with Associação Terras do Baixo Guadiana and Plano Lara.

The presentation of the event is scheduled for August 29, at 18 pm, at the Castelo de Tavira, and will feature the presidents of the Tavira City Council, of the Algarve Regional Coordination and Development Commission, of the Algarve Tourism Region, Associação In Loco, as well as with the regional director of Agriculture of the Algarve and the director of the Hotel and Tourism School of Vila Real de Santo António.
