Street vendors in the Portimão Riverside Zone and Praia da Rocha were reorganized. In the city centre, the location for this trade was changed to between the Captaincy and the Clube Naval, where there are also stalls offering plenty and entertainment for the younger ones, while in the bathing area the entertainment was reinforced by the Viewpoint.
The measures now put into effect «are aimed at disciplining these two spaces that are very frequented during the summer» and are part of a development plan drawn up by the municipal company Portimão Urbis, with the support of the Municipality and the Captaincy of the Port of Portimão.
The company has "conducted systematic awareness-raising work with sellers, which has led to sales locations currently appearing more uniform and orderly."
During the current summer season, additional measures take effect. "The sales space in Portimão's Riparian Zone is relocated from the area between bridges to a more southerly location, occupying the "terrado" that exists immediately after Repsol's petrol stations, up close to the Clube Naval de Portimão," he announced the municipality of Portimo.
Until the 31st of August, between 18 pm and midnight, in this area of the city there will be «a space for children's/youth entertainment, with an American track, non-polluting motorized entertainment, ball pool and boats, with plenty for sale , popcorn, cotton candy and waffles, as well as costume jewelry, clothing accessories, trinkets, clothing and international crafts».
«As for Praia da Rocha, the differences compared to what was previously verified include the increase in the offer of entertainment next to the Miradouro space until 30 September, with more offer in terms of children's/youth entertainment activities and the inclusion of plenty in that place, between 18 pm and midnight», added the Portimão Chamber.
The maritime tourism companies of Praia da Rocha are also subject to new rules. These activities take place between 9 am and midnight, «there are three operators next to the Hotel Jupiter and another three at the Miradouro».
