São Brás de Alportel is celebrating this Saturday the city's day with initiatives open to the entire community, with a special focus on the little ones, as today is also World Children's Day. The party for younger residents takes place in the afternoon, between 15 pm and 19 pm, at Jardim Carrera Viegas and is free.

During the Children's Day Party, there are activities for the whole family, whom the City Council of São Brás invites to spend «moments of conviviality and good spirits, in a party made up of various traditional, inflatable games, a fair of toys and materials for children , among many other games».

In the morning, the official commemorations of the 99 years of the Municipality of São Brás included a «Health and Well-being Meeting», a diversified exhibition of entities and companies working in the area of ​​health and well-being at a local level, giving learn about services and products available to the community.

The invited speakers for this conference were the professor of the Licentiate Course in Dietetics and Nutrition at the School of Health of the University of Algarve Maria Palma Mateus, the researcher at the Interdisciplinary Center for Human Performance Vanda Correia, the cardiologist and specialist in sports medicineVeloso Gomesand Senior Graduate Assistant of Public Health, of the Health Centers Grouping - ACES CentralFilomena Belt.

The meeting was followed, at 12 pm, by a visit to the work of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia day center in São Brás de Alportel. A space with multiple aspects, which aims to support the senior population of the municipality.
