The António Aleixo Cultural Center, in Vila Real de Santo António, hosts, on June 9th, the XNUMXst International Collecting Meeting.

The event is organized by the VRSA Fire Department's collection section and brings together enthusiasts from Portugal and Spain, who will exhibit thousands of objects such as stamps, postcards, key rings, lighters, pennants or bookmarks.

To mark the initiative, four collections of sugar packages will be launched, totaling 50 copies, a moment that will be used by many periglycophiles (collectors of sugar packages) to expand their collections.

Simultaneously, a postcard, seal and stamp will be issued commemorating the 500th anniversary of the foundation of Santo António de Arenilha, in homage to the then existing fishing village located on the Portuguese bank of the mouth of the Guadiana.

On display will also be numerous private collections and others belonging to the collections section of the Firefighters of VRSA, founded in 1977.

In addition to the multiple philatelic clubs in the Algarve and the rest of the country, the International Collectibles Meeting will have the collaboration of the Philately and Numismatics Center of Huelva and the University of Huelva.
