The 2013 Academic Week of the University of Algarve had a positive result and «went well», in the view of those responsible for the Academic Association of the University of Algarve, which organized the event.

The accounts are not yet fully closed, but it is already certain that the positive result this year will be "better or roughly equal to 2012", when it will have been around 60 thousand euros.

A result that «unfortunately, alone does not solve the financial situation of AAUAlg» (which arrived to reach the 876 thousand euros loss in 2011 and has been recovering ever since), but that “helps”.

The president and treasurer of AAUAlg, Filipa da Silva and Nélson Sobreiro, are the guests this Wednesday of the radio program «Impressões», organized jointly by the Sul Informação and by Rádio Universitária do Algarve. An interview to be heard today, at 19 pm, on 102.7 FM or on the RUA website.

The two responsible for the association took stock of this year's edition of the Academic Week, without forgetting the situation of the student allegedly attacked by security guards, who will have returned to the venue this year at the invitation of the Organizing Committee, and the situation was clarified.

The financial situation of AAUAlg, which is in a process of reorganization, the projects of representatives of the Algarve university students, the relationship with the city of Faro, which hosts the majority of university students in the Algarve, and the choice of Luís Magalhães as president of the UAlg General Council were other issues discussed.

Don't miss it, from 19 pm and then at Sul Informação, in more detail.
