Landscape architect Gonçalo Ribeiro Telles, who was recently awarded the “nobel” of his profession, the Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe Prize, will be this Saturday at Pátio de Letras, in Faro, to be honored. The initiative starts at 18:30 pm, in the cultural space/café located next to the Leya no Pátio bookstore.

The tribute to the «prestigious architect and man of civic intervention» and the conversation that will be generated will also include landscape architect Fernando Santos Pessoa, engineer Bento Morais Sarmento, friend of the honoree, Professor Henrique Coutinho Gouveia, from Universidade Nova de Lisboa, and Professor António Covas, from the University of Algarve.

The award that Gonçalo Ribeiro Telles received, according to the Portuguese Association of Landscape Architects (APAP), «represents the greatest honor that the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) can grant and recognizes a landscape architect, whose work and contributions throughout his life have had an incomparable and lasting impact on the well-being of society and the environment and on the promotion of the profession of Landscape Architecture».
