The Ria Formosa Natural Park celebrates its 35th anniversary next Saturday, May 4th, with the commemorations taking place at the Marim Environmental Education Center, in Olhão, with an Open Day that takes place between 10:00 and 18:30. The dissemination of natural values ​​and environmental animation activities are proposed for this day of celebration.

The Institute for the Conservation of Nature and Forests (ICNF) organizes various activities throughout the day, in different spaces: in the interpretive center of the Park, for example, it will be possible to visit the Polis Litoral Ria Formosa, the actions of the Live + Marpro project or the photography exhibition “Luz Sobre a Ria”.

There will also be a projection of images over the Natural Park, a guided bird watching tour (10:30 am), a walking trail at the educational center, with a guide (11:00 am and 15:00 pm), Ninpon Taijutsu (14:00 pm-16:00 pm), the Cantinho dos Experimentos e Comes and Babies.

Visits will be made at the Wildlife Recovery and Investigation Center (RIAS) (10:30 am and 12:00 pm), there will be release of birds (12:00 pm) and the dissemination of the Life Trachemys project (14:00 pm-16:00 pm).

On this day, there will also be archery, “Escuteirar” – Educar para a Vida (Educating for Life) games, cayak (10:00-12:30), rappel, Ria sounds and segway experience.

These commemorations have, among others, the support of the Municipality of Olhão, through the Ecoteca/Casa João Lúcio, where the exhibition “Olhão no Alvorecer do Séc. XIX” and the biological gardens of the “Horta João Lúcio” project can be visited ( 14:00-16:00).

And because it is the Open Day of the Ria Formosa Natural Park, visits will be made to the pilot fish farming station in Olhão and boat trips along the Ria canals.
