The Lagoa Council does not agree with the eventual closure of the Ferragudo post office, and the mayor presented a proposal to protest against this measure, to be sent to the Administration of CTT, with knowledge of several entities, and which was unanimously approved at a Chamber meeting.

At the meeting, it was decided to show the «total disagreement and most heartfelt repudiation of the eventual decision to close the Vila de Ferragudo post office», as well as «to demand from the CTT Administration full compliance with its legal obligations in terms of the provision of services effective and efficient postcards and that ensure the public service to which it is obligated'.

The Câmara de Lagoa, at the proposal of its president José Inácio, also decided to demand that CTT keep "the mentioned post office, the only form of the population, especially the one with greater mobility difficulties, and the large number of tourists that operate. Vila de Ferragudo receives, having ensured all the services that CTT is obliged to provide and that it has, over the years, made available in Ferragudo».

The resolution contains a final point that requires "from the CTT Administration an ethical and responsible conduct in terms of the services that the company provides and with respect for all users who depend on them".

In a press release, the Lagoon local authority recalls a previous information transmitted by CTT indicating that "no change is foreseen to the functioning of the Ferragudo Post Office in the nearest horizon", information that now seems to have had no effect.

The Council of Lagoa will inform the Municipal Assembly of Lagoa, the Parliamentary Groups of the Assembly of the Republic, the Administration of CTT, the Ministry of tutelage and the Parish Council of Ferragudo.
