Aware of the difficulties ahead, but confidence that it will be possible to avoid relegation with the new coach Bruno Saraiva in charge of the Olhanense team.

This was the main message given at the presentation of the new coach of the emblem of Olhão, which took place this Thursday, where no one hid that the burden placed on the 38-year-old coach's shoulders is heavy.

The young coach takes the leap from Moncarapachense, a satellite club of Olhanense that militates in the I District Division, to the I League. A challenge that he says he is not afraid of, although he admits that it will not depend on him alone. «I'm here to collaborate in a work that has to be collective», said Bruno Saraiva.

In other words, much of what is achieved in the next two weeks, 18 days to be exact, goes through the players. “This is a determined team, convinced of victory. We are focused on the next game and confident that we will make it», he assured.

«We have the ambition of success. And this is achieved with work and a spirit of overcoming difficulties», he said.

Another important element will be the support that fans give to the team, in this complicated end of the championship. "On Sunday [at 16 pm], we need all the people from Olho to come and support the team [to Estádio José Arcanjo]", appealed the new coach.

Bruno Saraiva is from Olhão, like his predecessor Manuel Cajuda, and also has a long connection with the club. As a player, he spent «17 years in the formation of Olhanense».

As a coach, after having done «an excellent job in the youth of Internacional de Almancil», in the words of Isidoro Sousa, he was pulled into the Olhanense's sphere by club vice-president Filipe Sousa, to coach the satellite club.

An experience that Bruno Saraiva highlights, in response to what he says he knows well «that is going through people's minds». “I'm young, but I've been coaching football for ten years. I also played a little bit, although I didn't make it to the First League," he explained, recalling that there are many players who occupy positions of head coach in the Major League "without ever having trained before."

This will make the risk, which both the coach and management admit exists in this option, a little more controlled. Perhaps for this reason, Isidoro Sousa is confident that it will be a winning bet.

“We are not afraid, we have already launched several coaches. I think Bruno will be able to make a comeback, even if only in terms of the soul», said the president of Olhanense.

An important aspect, as he considered that the team even grew under the baton of Manuel Cajuda, he just couldn't turn that growth into points. Something that will have to happen now, necessarily.

“We felt that a change was needed. This is the last attempt to save the club from descent», a scenario that would be bad for the region, «since Olhanense is currently the reference club in the Algarve».

«Nobody has anything to gain from descent, on the contrary, we have everything to gain from maintenance», considered, for his part, Bruno Saraiva.

The new coach was "the first choice" of the board, assured Isidoro Sousa, despite the club having been "bombed with names, as is normal in these situations."

"It was a sensible choice and it received the approval of all the management", added the president of Olhanense, who added that it was sought to "find someone who knew the corners of the house". This morning, Bruno Saraiva already guided the training.
