Quarteira celebrates another sporting festival with the XII Triathlon Prof. Carlos Gravata Cidade de Quarteira, which brings together the European cream of the sport, and is scheduled for next weekend, April 6th and 7th.
At the start of yet another Olympic cycle, with eyes set on the Rio de Janeiro Games in 2016, the athletes will, of course, bet on a great start for what is expected to be an intense competition.
The program starts on Saturday, with the competition regarding the European Cup. At 13:45 pm, the Elite Feminina enters the competition and, at 16:30 pm, it is the turn of the Elite Men.
For Sunday, the junior and national components of this XII Triathlon are planned. The Junior European Cup starts at 8:45 am, with the Junior Women's competition and, at 10:00 am, with the Junior Men's competition.
At 11:30 am, the National Club Championship starts, with the Men's and Women's Elites taking part in action simultaneously.
Remember that this Triathlon is one of the many international sporting events that the Municipality of Loulé hosts annually and, in that sense, it is also a tourist attraction par excellence, as it attracts many visitors who at this time of year contribute to boosting the local economy .
Quarteira Triathlon is a joint organization of the Loulé City Council, the Portuguese Triathlon Federation, the European Triathlon Union and the Quarteira Parish Council.
