The Board of Directors of the Hospital Center of the Barlavento Algarvio (CHBA) is analyzing “at this moment, some measures that can mitigate the disturbances occurred [with the introduction of paid parking], trying to reconcile the various interests involved».

In response to questions asked by Sul Informação, a note from the CHBA adds that its chairman of the Board of Directors “viewed the confusion generated with deep concern”.

José Ramos considers, in that note, that "it would be expected that a measure of this type could trigger some disturbance at an early stage, as it is not a popular measure", implying that he was not prepared for the confusion created this morning in traffic and accesses to the city of Portimão and to the hospital, which even led to ambulances being held up in queues and forced the intervention of the PSP.

The administrator adds, however, that it was “the Institution's concern” that the introduction of payment in CHBA car parks in Portimão “would not burden the population too much, taking into account the current economic situation”.
