Two men suspected of being drug dealers were arrested yesterday, Thursday, by the Albufeira GNR.

The men, aged 33 and 40, were detained “in the Castle of Paderne – Paderne, in an area of dense woods and difficult to access, where individuals sold the narcotic product directly to consumers, after telephone contacts between them”.

According to the Territorial Command of Faro of the GNR, the suspects, 'with residence in Boliqueime and Guia, were detected having in their possession enough narcotic product for 2850 individual doses of heroin and 105 of cocaine, in addition to 3 mobile phones and other objects related to packaging and marketing of the narcotic'.

These arrests come "following two others made by the same Investigation Nucleus at the end of last month", which leads the GNR to believe that it "strongly weakened drug trafficking in the Algarve region".

The detainees will be present today at the Judicial Court of Albufeira for the application of coercive measures.
