Albufeira Futsal Clube will face Casa do Benfica in Vila Real de Santo António, in the Final of the Algarve Futsal Cup, which takes place on the 25th of April, at 17 pm, at the Pavilhão Desportivo de Paderne.

The initiative, which is organized by the Algarve Football Association, with the collaboration of the Municipality of Albufeira, is part of the Municipality's 39th Anniversary Celebrations program.

Albufeira Futsal Club, founded on the 11th of July 2007, is the most recent sports club in the municipality, but it has already achieved some victories in terms of regional competition. In the 2012-2013 season, in the match against Louletano DC, the Juniors team won the District Champions Cup, succeeding in the title to Casa do Benfica in Vila Real de Santo António, with which they will compete, next Thursday, the Final of the Algarve Futsal Cup.

The District Champions Cup, an award achieved on February 16 this year, will be handed over to the Juniors team, in Paderne, during the half-time of the game.

Paulo Dias, councilor responsible for the Sports department, is very satisfied with the performance of the Albufeires formation “it is a reason of pride for the Municipality to see the youngest Sports Club in the municipality reach this level”.

Sport is essential for the development of the young population, as well as for other age groups, including the elderly, said the mayor to whom, “despite the current difficulties that the country and local authorities are going through, it is essential to continue to support, with the resources available to clubs in the municipality, promoting the various sports, both in terms of competition and training and awareness of the importance of healthy lifestyles”.
