Spices from the East and the uses to be given to them, vermicomposting and Portuguese bats will be highlighted in the April program of the Centro de Ciência Viva de Lagos.

As usual, the Lagos CCV will open its doors to the population in general throughout this month to talk about topics of interest, linked to science. Next Saturday, the 13th at 15 pm, the «Science to Conversation» initiative will teach a «practical solution for organic waste produced in your kitchen, garden or farm».

“Earthworms could be the solution because vermicomposting has never been so easy! Get to know engineer Nelson Lourenço», challenged CCV de Lagos in a press release.

On the 27th, which is also Saturday, there will be «Science in the Family» from 15 pm, a space that, in April, focuses on the flavors, colors and smells of spices and «the applications and uses of these aromas».

The exhibition of the month, which can already be visited, is the exhibition «Morcegos Lusos», which presents «9 of the 27 species present in Portugal, as well as some methods used to study them».

"The United Nations and EUROBATS have declared 2011-2012 as the Year of the Bat, with the aim of promoting conservation, research and education on the approximately 1200 species of bats that exist worldwide," added the Lagos CCV.
